The Jeep Renegade hit the streets in 2015 and was aimed at filling a vital role in the Jeep family. If you’re looking for something smaller, more road friendly, and want the Jeep name that goes with it, then this is the one for you.
Key takeaways
- The Renegade comes with a handful of changes throughout its life with safety features taking center stage in 2022.
- 2023 saw a new cosmetic change that added the flair that was on the Trailhawk to a new entry trim. Letting you ride in style without paying more than you have to.
- Thanks to the My Sky dual-panel, you can have a traditional sunroof, or you can remove it all together.
The Ford Renegade has only been around for one generation so far but it has seen its fair share of changes aimed at keeping it fresh.
Features
When looking at the base features of the Renegade regardless of year model you’ll find that most come in a front-wheel drive with four-wheel drive available on Sport, Latitude and Limited trims. While the Trailhawk trim comes only in 4wd only.
If you’re wanting a more freeing experience, then you can look for the My Sky dual-panel removable roof. It opens like traditional sunroofs, but it can also be removed completely, giving you the best open-air experience this vehicle can offer.
Trims
The Renegade comes in a handful of trims for you to look at. These trims are: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. While the Sport is the base trim, it doesn’t come with many optional features. The rest of the trims can offer optional passive entry, and push start button. There’s also comfort options available for most trims, and these options are heated front bucket seats.
Upgrades in Model Years
In 2019, the Renegade saw its first large change. The first change we can look at are the front and rear bumpers. They’ve been redesigned with LED headlamps, and have a larger front grille. The infotainment also saw an upgrade becoming larger going up to 8.4-inches.
2022
2022 also saw some changes in the form of the optional 8.4-inch infotainment screen becoming standard across all trims. This infotainment system comes loaded with features and connectivity making sure that you’re always in control.
A new RED edition was also introduced this year, coming with 19-inch tires, and wheels. These wheels have a Granite Crystal-finish and are an aluminum-alloy. For the inside you will find Ruby Red front and rear door speaker grille bezels and outer instrument panel bezels, a gloss black transmission shifter and center console bezels.
Jeep Active Safety Group now comes as standard equipment on all Renegade models. This was done in an effort to help make the Jeep experience as safe as it can be.
2023
2023 saw the deletion of the base Sport trim. That’s not the only thing that Jeep took this year as the front-wheel versions have also been removed. All trims are now all-wheel drive, making it so that no matter the trim it will handle the same.
The Upland trim was also reintroduced this year. This trim takes the Trailhawk look and puts it into a package that is more beginner friendly. If you’re wanting more for less, then the Latitude is what you want.
It has access to a new group named the “Latitude Premium Group”. This group comes with automatic on/off front headlamps, an eight-way, power-adjustable front driver's seat with two-way power lumbar support, heated front seats and steering wheel. These features help keep the driver comfortable, and helps the driver maintain control with some extra help from the vehicle.
